Skyjack and the Guelph Storm Pink the Rink in support of the Canadian Cancer Society
November 27, 2017; Guelph, Ontario – Linamar Corporation’s (TSX-LNR) Skyjack division partnered with OHL team Guelph Storm for their annual Pink the Rink night. The fun-filled evening took place Friday night and featured fundraising games, a sea of pink throughout the crowd, and even showcased a pink Skyjack SJ46 AJ boom, which facilitated the puck drop.
“As an initiative that hits close to home for our Skyjack family, we’re happy to continue this partnership with the Guelph Storm and the Canadian Cancer Society.” says Malcolm Early, vice president of marketing at Skyjack.
The team at Skyjack also created custom t-shirts that were sold throughout the night and the proceeds from those sales were donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. Last year Skyjack was able to donate $1,500 from t-shirt sales and this year Skyjack raised the bar and generated $3,000 in t-shirt sales and game night tickets for their employees. This all took place downtown Guelph on the Storm’s home ice at the Sleeman Centre.
“We were very happy with the turnout Friday night. Everyone enjoyed an evening of exciting hockey action that was fun for the whole family and also supports a great cause.” said Matt Newby, vice president of business operations at Guelph Storm.
Together participants helped raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society’s research on breast cancer. For a full list of how these donations help, visit cancer.ca.
