Skyjack Embraces Holiday Season with Their Donation to The Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis
POSTED December 19, 2023
DECEMBER 19, 2023; Linamar Corporation’s (TSX:LNR) Skyjack division is proud to again support the Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis (GWWIC). For the second year in a row, Skyjack sold “ugly” Christmas sweaters at the Skyjack store, with all proceeds going towards the GWWIC. As a result, the Skyjack team was able to make an $8,000 donation to the GWWIC.
The GWWIC is a community-based organization providing services to women and their children on domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Their services and programs provided to the community are inclusive and equitable for all individuals while also being responsive to issues of race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and/or abilities.
“We look forward to our GWWIC fundraiser every year,” said Malcolm Early, VP of Marketing, Skyjack. “Throughout the years we have supported the GWWIC during the holiday season with toy drives and cash donations but our ugly sweater campaign has stood out as of late as a favourite. This year we were proud to donate $8,000 on behalf of Skyjack and our employees.”
Designed by Christina Evans, Design & Multimedia Supervisor, the sweaters featured festive images of Skyjack’s DC scissors, vertical masts, booms and telehandlers. With an eye towards sustainability, the sweaters were made by Roody. Roody aims to minimize their environmental impact by focusing on sustainable materials and manufacturing practices, as well as planting a tree for every item made.
“We are so grateful for our tight-knit partnership with Skyjack,” shared Sly Castaldi Executive Director, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis. “They have found the perfect blend for putting the “fun” in fundraising. Their support reaches new heights every year and helps us bring much needed services to our community!”
