POSTED November 01, 2022
November 1st, 2022; Linamar Corporation’s (TSX: LNR) Skyjack was part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph Royal City Big Chase that took place on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Skyjack Plant 2, located at 201 Woodlawn Road West featured as a Challenge Stop and the Refuel Sponsor for the participating teams snack bags.
Inspired by the reality television show “The Amazing Race”, the Royal City Big Chase invited teams of four to race around the City of Guelph while competing in a series of fun challenges and scavenger hunts at well-known shops, parks, and businesses.
“The 2nd Annual Royal City Big Chase was such a fun day for everyone involved!” says Taylor Brick, fund development and communications coordinator, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph, “This years Big Chase raised a total of $22,147.00 in support of the life-changing youth programs we offer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph. This event would not have been possible without the support from our community. We cannot wait to start planning next years Big Chase!”
Skyjack was the first stop for some teams and the last stop for others. Participants had to climb up to the platform of an SJ9664 RT and then were raised up 50 ft to retrieve the clue attached to the platform base of a SJ60 AJ+.
Bart Krzysztofek, product safety training supervisor, Skyjack, and his team were on site to assist with the management of the machines and raising the participants up to retrieve the clues. “It was a pleasure participating in this year’s Royal City Big Chase” says Krzysztofek. “The Skyjack team setup an amazing challenge site that incorporated some of Skyjack’s largest aerial equipment. We had a soggy start in the early morning but by the time the race participants began to arrive, the skies began to clear, and we had some decent fall weather. Our challenge was a big hit, everyone seemed to really enjoy taking a ride up to the 50-foot-high target to retrieve their next clue. Our team was thrilled to be a part of this event and we hope the participants had a great time.”
Congratulations to the Goofy Gerbers that were first to cross the finish line.
