Star Platforms donates Skyjack to The Poppy Factory
The Poppy Factory has been supporting wounded, injured and sick veterans back into employment for 100 years. Their UK employability service helps hundreds of veterans throughout England and Wales on their journey into meaningful employment across a wide range of sectors.
At the start of this year, The Poppy Factory began a major redevelopment to provide an inclusive, modern, safe and effective working environment for all staff and volunteers. The refurbishment will also enable them to create an improved visitor experience, more accessible to the local community.
“We needed a machine for a day to carry out some high-level CCTV installation and maintenance work. As our preferred supplier of all powered access, Star Platforms offered to provide the machine free of charge, which is a true testament to our ongoing relationship. We were delighted with this gesture and appreciated Star Platforms support and assistance in this matter. Thank you to all involved for a job very well done!”

The Skyjack SJ30 ARJE (Articulating Rotating Jib Electric Boom) is an electric articulating boom with an 11.00m working height and a 227kg lifting capacity. Electric boom lifts are generally used inside by maintenance contractors, electricians, CCTV installers, etc. This machine is narrow and has zero tail swing, making it ideal where space is at a premium.
“The Poppy Factory is a fantastic organisation that provides vital support to veterans. When we were approached by Barry we were delighted to help in the best way we could. We knew our Skyjack SJ30 ARJE would be an asset to the project, which we were proud to be part of.”
