As a part of the Guelph community for over 35 years, Skyjack is proud and honored to be able to support so many local not-for-profit organizations. Over the years, we have consistently supported the Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis (GWWIC) during the holiday season with a toy drive and a cash donation.

“Skyjack has been a longtime supporter of the GWWIC,” says Ken McDougall, President, Skyjack Inc. “Each year our team comes up with a special way to support this great cause. This year’s Sweater Campaign was a hit, and we are delighted to be able to provide a $7,500 donation to the GWWIC on behalf of Skyjack and our employees.”

The Ugly Sweaters were the creative design of Christina Evans, Design & Multimedia Supervisor, Skyjack Inc. Her design incorporated images of Skyjack vertical masts, DC scissors, booms, and telehandlers with a festive flare. A one week, first come first served sale was held in the Skyjack store at the Plant 2 facility from December 5th – 9th, 2022 with all proceeds from the sales of the sweaters and shirts going towards the GWWIC. By December 6th, the most popular sizes were sold out, and there was only a handful left.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Skyjack which we are so grateful for,” says Sly Castaldi, Executive Director, Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis. “You guys always come through every holiday season, whether it is gifts, gift cards, cash, or toys. It is meaningful and means so much to those that rely on us for support throughout the year. The donation from Skyjack is always in the holiday spirit, but this year seems extra festive for some reason. The sweaters look great! This was astonishing and we are so grateful.”

The GWWIC is a feminist community-based organization providing services to women and their children on domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Their services and programs provided to the community are inclusive and equitable for all individuals while also being responsive to issues of race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and/or abilities.

The Ugly Sweaters were made by Roody. Their company strives on sustainable production processes with a focus on utilizing materials and practices that minimize adverse environmental impacts. For every item they make, a tree is planted. They have set a target of 1 million trees by 2023.
